Execution & Operations
5 Signs Your Company Has an Execution Problem, Not a People Problem
When growth stalls, the first instinct is often to look at the team — are they fast enough, senior enough, motivated enough. Usually that’s the wrong question. Five signs point somewhere else entirely:
- Priorities shift weekly with no shared framework for deciding between them.
- The same questions get asked of the same one or two people, repeatedly.
- Reporting is manually assembled from three different tools.
- Activity is high, but very little of it compounds into anything durable.
- Nobody can explain why a given process exists — only that it’s “how we do it.”
None of these are fixed by hiring harder or working longer hours. They’re fixed by diagnosing where the system itself is creating the friction, and redesigning that — not the people inside it.
